Good morning!  We were delighted to see so many fabulous projects for our Challenge #08 - Letters and/or Numbers.  You were all very creative with the way you included letters, numbers or both in your projects.  It was tough for us to pick our favourites, but here are the winners.

Great to see a 3D project.

Super neutral colour scheme with a touch of gold from the sequins.

Challenge #09 - Birds

Good morning.  It's time for our new challenge, and for the next couple of weeks we want to see you use birds on your masculine themed projects.  Don't forget you can make a 3D project, a tag, scrapbook page, card - any kind of papercraft so long as it follows the theme and is masculine.

Here's some inspiration from the team to get you started:

Before we go, just a quick note to let you know we're changing things with regard to the challenge winners.  Instead of a Top 3 (and sometime 4 or 5), from this challenge the team will be picking an Overall Winner and some Honourable Mentions (the number of which might vary).  Have fun with the challenge and we look forward to seeing your creations.

New DT Members and Challenge #08 - Using Letters and/or Numbers

Good morning everyone.  We had a super response to our recent DT Call and it was hard to pick just two new members, but we did.  Joining our team today are Jane and Sue T - let's hear from them:

I think I've probably been crafting all my life, starting at primary school with a love of embroidery and knitting. Building on this my Nan taught me how to sew and I made dolls clothes, aprons and then my own clothes. I studied to be a primary school teacher with craft as my main subject - this included weaving, collage and dressmaking. Over the next few years I dabbled in many crafts including cross stitch, macrame, patchwork, crochet, - you name it I've probably given it a go!

Currently my main craft interests are scrapbooking and card making and I love nothing better than to disappear into my craft room for hours at a time. I think my style has really developed over the last two years since I discovered challenge blogs and started my blog so that I could enter them. Now I'm more or less firmly in the CAS camp, however I love to try new things and admire all different genres. With three sons and three grandsons you could say The Male Room is a pretty good fit for me and  I'm super excited to be joining the DT. I'm really looking forward to starting this new adventure and getting to know everyone.

Hi, I am Sue T.- yes that is what everyone calls me. I have been stamping since 1996. It truly became an obsession when a stamp store opened 5 minutes from my house. I love making cards. There isn’t a holiday that I don’t send them out. I have dabbled in just about every style over the years, but have found my niche with CAS cards. In the real world, I am a FT endoscopy nurse, working on my Master’s. I have a wonderful husband who is my best cheerleader and critic. My muse in my studio is my sweet kitty, Pinkie.

One other thing - you've probably noticed that we've had a bit of a redesign here at The Male Room - we do hope you like the crisp new look.  Thanks to Kylie Purtell for doing all the hard work - she's done a super job.

Here at The Male Room we aim to provide inspiration and ideas when making projects for the men in our lives - both young and old, cute and grumpy - they are all special to us, but creating for guys can sometimes be difficult.  We provided challenges to help you create and any kind of paper craft is welcome, but it must have a masculine feel.  For the next couple of weeks we'd like your projects to feature:

Please use Letters and/or Numbers on your projects.  Here are some ideas from the Design Team to get you started:
