I did enjoy seeing all your fabulous creations for our Steampunk challenge. You guys really rocked the challenge. Lots of lovely grunge, clocks, cogs, vintage, and some very elegant ones too. As always it was tough to pick our winners, but here they are:

There is so much to admire here. Love the colours and that pipework frame.

The printed cogs and the metal cogs and a super vintage image too! Love it.

Challenge #55 - Theme

Hello and good morning! This year seems to be going by somewhat faster than it should be! I can hardly believe it's already March! The upside is that it's time for our new challenge here at The Male Room - TMR#55. For the next couple of weeks our theme is STEAMPUNK. The dictionary definition is:

"a genre of science fiction that has a historical setting and typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology.

a style of design and fashion that combines historical elements with anachronistic technological features inspired by science fiction "the essence of steampunk is homage to vintage fashion with a modern, sassy twist".

If you're not sure what steampunk is, check out the videos at the end of the post - there are examples of a canvas, scrapbook page and a card.

Steampunk is a fun genre. You can make it reasonably clean and simple or you can go wild with the layers, distressing and inks. The main thing is that your project has a masculine feel! Have fun. Deadline for submission is midnight (GMT) Tuesday 14th March, that's 8.00pm EDT in the States. We've got an extra hour in the States because our clocks have already gone forward, but in Europe and the UK it doesn't happen until 26th March!
