Challenge #90 - Include An Unexpected Item

Hey!
Welcome back to The Male Room where we have a really quirky challenge starting today.

Now what could that unexpected item possibly be? Well here's a few ideas, although I'm sure you've even more of your own - a clothes tag, a board game piece, food wrapping, a mini notebook or pencil, a moving part, metal screws or bolts - in fact anything that you wouldn't normally expect to see on a craft project. A chance to be BOLD and ADVENTUROUS!

We've a wonderful Guest Designer - Ana - joining us for this challenge and she's used some letter tiles as an unexpected item. Do click the link and visit her blog, time well spent and you'll not be disappointed.

 Ana

And of course, The Male Room's DT have been scouring their homes looking for unexpected items too. Check out their ideas and maybe borrow one to include on your male themed project.

Such superb colouring on this card and lots of fabulous little details too. Bet you've guessed the film Jan was inspired by, but there's a little more magic if you follow the link on her blog to a slide show.

Travel and the adventure films are the inspiration for this card. Don't you just love those stacks of suitcases? And the detail in the popped up coloured stack really caught our eye!

Zlati kompas voščilnica

Oh my goodness what a stunning background! And with the addition of all those golden cogs - well we were just smitten. Go visit her blog to discover the film.

Congratulations to you all!

Challenge #89 - Fish/Fishing

Well have we got exciting news to share with you all today! Yes we're introducing our two new DT members and they've already started to play along.

We were totally blown away by the response to our DT call and would love to have had you all join us, but that just wouldn't work. So if you put DT next to your name and didn't make the final call, don't be disheartened. If you'd like to join us as a Guest Designer for a future challenge we'd love to have you. Just contact Jane and let her know - themaleroomcraftchallenge@gmail.com

We're delighted to welcome:

Lise Mariann

Hi. My name is Lise Mariann and I come from a tiny island in the north of Norway. I am currently living in Trondheim, in the middle of Norway, with my husband, two children and my two cats. I am an archaeologist working with children in the university museum in my city, but in the evenings after my children have gone to bed I am reading books, doing embroidery and of course scrapbooking and making cards. I have been scrapbooking for almost 14 years, but only recently started making cards as well. Heavily into the card making at the moment though. (My husband looks at the growing pile of cards and wonders if we really know this much people... Haha!)

So excited to be here and I can't wait to play along with you.

Wei

Hello, I am Wei from Taiwan which is an island state like Japan. I live with my hubby and our two girls. I was a teacher and taught Chemistry at high school. For accompanying my little girls, I quit my job ten years ago. For creating my girls' paper toy, I started paper crafting, but I jumped into card-making world in 2016.

I am so honored to be one of this awesome DT.

We know you're going to love their projects and be totally inspired by them.

And finally on to the new challenge!

So do you like sitting still by a river bank all day waiting for the fish to bite? Or would you prefer to sit at home and craft a fishing project? Whichever it is we hope you'll enjoy creating something for a fella who loves fishing. it can be any type of paper project - card, atc, scrapbook page, ART journal, 3D, canvas, tag.........

We're delighted to have two Guest Designers for this challenge - Andreja and Diane.

Guest Designer - Andreja
How adorable is Andreja's card, I never knew fishing could be so very cute!

Guest Designer - Diane
And then Diane's card - well who knew it was as much of a collecting stash hobby as crafting!

Both our Guest Designer cards have made me revise my opinion on fishing and see it in a completely new light.

So now it's the turn of TMR DT. An absolute feast of fishiness to inspire you and get your creative juices flowing. And maybe get those other juices flowing and make you feel hungry too!

Lise Mariann

Well what do you think? Bet you're seeing fish and fishing in a whole new light too!

We're so looking forward to seeing what you create!

You have until midnight (BST) Tuesday 17th July, that's 7.00pm EDT in the States.
